Overview:
This programme has been designed with the aim to equip students with essential fundamental skills for careers in property valuation, estate agency, property management, property development, market research and property investment and finance under the built environment sector Malaysia. The programme focuses in core competencies required on property valuation in wide ranges of property and purposes inclusive of traditional, statutory, investment, plant and machinery, special properties and development appraisal. Students will also be trained in property development, land purchase, property management, support service, managing and maintaining residential, commercial and industrial property and be exposed to financial, legal in investment practices such as investment analysis, viability study, market study and portfolio management of real estate projects.

Progression Routes:
The Bachelor of Real Estate is accredited by both local and international professional bodies, including the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers Malaysia (BOVAEP) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), United Kingdom, with input from the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM). This professional recognition ensures that the programme meets industry standards and enhances graduates’ employability both locally and internationally.
The programme is structured as a 3½-year full-time course of study leading to the award of a Bachelor of Real Estate degree. Graduates who aspire to become Registered Valuers are required to complete an additional two years of supervised professional training under a Registered Valuer and pass the Test of Professional Competence (TPC) administered by BOVAEP. During this training period, candidates must maintain provisional registration with the Board.
As an accredited programme, graduates are eligible for direct registration with BOVAEP as a Probationary Valuer (PV), Probationary Estate Agent (PEA), or Probationary Property Manager (PPM), providing a clear pathway towards professional qualification and practice.
Accreditation by Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers Malaysia (BOVAEP)
The Bachelor of Real Estate Management (Honours) [formerly known as the Bachelor of Estate Management (Honours)] (introduced in 2013) and the Diploma in Real Estate Management [formerly known as the Diploma in Technology (Property Management)] (introduced in 2004) received accreditation from the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers Malaysia (BOVAEP) in 2013 (for the bachelor's degree) and 2014 (for the diploma), respectively.
With this accreditation, TAR UC students who graduate with the Bachelor of Real Estate Management (Honours) are eligible to apply to BOVAEP as Probationary Valuers, Probationary Estate Agents, and/or Probationary Property Managers. They may subsequently register for the Test of Professional Competence for Valuers, Estate Agents, and/or Property Managers conducted by BOVAEP. Upon passing the test, they are eligible to register with BOVAEP as Registered Valuers, Registered Estate Agents, and/or Registered Property Managers, and may apply for admission as Members of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM). Students who graduate with the Diploma in Real Estate Management are eligible to apply to BOVAEP as Probationary Estate Agents and subsequently register for the Test of Professional Competence for Estate Agents conducted by BOVAEP. Upon passing the final professional interview, they are eligible to register with BOVAEP as Registered Estate Agents.
Diploma graduates from TAR UC may also receive credit transfer towards pursuing the Bachelor of Real Estate Management (Honours) at Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC).
